The California Peace Officers’ Association (CPOA), established in 1921, continues its commitment to developing leaders for the California law enforcement community – no matter the rank or department – through organizational networking, professional development, technological advancement, and public policy advocacy. CPOA is a non-union professional association with more than 24,000 members, both sworn and civilian from municipal, county, state, and federal law enforcement agencies throughout California.

This program is designed specifically to cover the law enforcement exposures faced by members of the FOP Legal Defense Plan by paying legal defense costs on behalf of participating members (Supervisor and above ranks).
